The BC Hockey Hall of Fame (BCHHF) is located inside the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton, BC and was established in 1994. The mandate of the BCHHF is to honour the past, celebrate the present, and inspire the future. We honour the past by providing curated displays and cabinets that showcase BC’s hockey history. We celebrate the present by recognizing our annual inductees at an annual induction celebration event. We inspire the future by promoting the sport of hockey and encouraging participation province-wide.

The BCHHF is seeking a Manager to maintain and supervise all administrative and operational aspects of the organization and will perform the following key duties:


  • Create and maintain displays and cabinets related to provincial hockey history and current/past BCHHF inductees
  • Partner and liaise with provincial hockey organizations to create new and interesting displays while creating awareness of the BCHHF province wide
  • Develop curation plans and goals that include further utilizing technology and innovation to enhance the appeal of the displays

Annual Induction Celebration Event

  • Work with Induction & Awards Committee to collect nominations and facilitate the inductee selection process on an annual basis
  • Partner with local and provincial media to announce annual inductees
  • Facilitate the planning of the induction celebration which includes (but is not limited to): venues, catering, ticket sales, special guests, guest speakers, sponsorship, entertainment, accommodations, etc. (this position is the lead coordinator for this event)


  • Supervise the 50/50 operations at all Penticton Vees home games
  • Schedule and supervise 50/50 ticket sellers during home games
  • Conform to all BC Gaming regulations including applications, on-site regulations, and mandatory reporting
  • Develop a sustainable fundraising strategy that utilizes traditional and innovative streams of revenue generation

Marketing/Social Media

  • Maintain the BCHHF Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube accounts
  • Update the BCHHF website with regular and creative content
  • Create promotional e-newsletters for subscribers


  • Report to and collaborate with BCHHF board of directors through regular meetings, strategic planning, governance updates and operational planning
  • Act as an administrative resource to the board of directors and all board committees
  • Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the organization
  • Supervise contract and volunteer staff during events and other engagements
  • Manage all BCHHF finances including accounts payable/receivable, monthly and annual budgets, and reporting of financial statements to board of directors

The Manager reports to the BC Hockey Hall of Fame board of directors


  • Excellent communication skills with ability to create and maintain partnerships
  • Experience planning, executing and evaluating large events
  • Proficiency in managing websites, e-newsletters, and social media platforms
  • Experience managing staff and volunteers
  • Experience managing budgets, financial statements, and accounts
  • Experience working for a not-for-profit and reporting to a board of directors (considered an asset)
  • Experience curating in a museum or hall of fame (considered an asset)
